Our founder, Kristine Reeves, is a former elected official herself, who discovered that political institutions often exempt themselves from workplace practices and expectations, resulting in stories of sexual harassment, discrimination, and toxic culture. We believe this hinders government efficiency and promotes a lack of government accountability. While we spend millions of dollars a year recruiting and training women and people of color to run for office, we spend little to no money providing professional governance training once they are elected.
It's why we believe the work we do is to support elected public servants, particularly women and people of color, in making meaningful change within political institutions not built for them, by them, or with their inclusion in mind, by ensuring they have the proper tools, professional supports, and external sounding boards to be successful.
Get to know the current and former elected officials who have joined our team to support newly elected officials and political institutions.
Treating political institutions as places of work, we strive to provide newly elected officials with the professional development, organizational trainings, and equity assessments needed to tackle systems change for more inclusive public policy and more equitable institutions that benefit all people.
